Program Innovation & Quality

In this survey, respondents answered questions about program innovation and quality. Topics included the drivers and barriers for change and innovation, types of innovations considered and implemented feasibility of implementing innovation and various perspectives on program quality components.

Quick Facts

Survey Respondents:

  • 47 Part-time MBA policy makers (55% response rate)
  • Titles spanned MBA Program Directors, Associate Deans, Assistant Deans and Program Managers
  • 44% hold doctorate degrees, while 33% hold masters
  • Respondents reported an average of four years on the job with 50% reporting 10 or more years tenure with their business school

Participating Institutions:

  • 44 unique schools of business participated
  • Average Fall 2012 enrollments were 212 (SD = 269)
  • Average number of full-time faculty was 65 (SD = 52)
  • 91% of students complete the Part-Time MBA between 2 and 3 years
  • 44% report not offering a Full-Time MBA program
  • 30% of program use cohorts to complete some portion of the program
